One of my friends saw an iPhone 4 for really a good price on eBay. He knows very little about mobile phones, so was asking me whether he can buy it or not. Since I know so much about mobiles I decided to investigate the advert. The advert on the site read, “Factory Unlocked Brand New iPhone 4”.
But when I read the description the seller had put, I was pretty sure that it is not factory unlocked. The iPhone was actually jail-broken and unlocked using illegal methods. Mobile phone such as these might work well, but when you try to upgrade, anything can happen.
If you really want to buy a phone which is not locked to any carrier, then visit your trusted local retailer. Online sites are full of people who claim something and deliver exactly opposite. You can return the mobile phone you have bought, but it is a tedious process, and also wastes your time.
