You have been reading books, watching videos, listening to music and playing games on your iPad, but do you know that it can also run full featured Office Suites? You can go on a vacation just carrying an iPad loaded with Office apps, and proudly say to anyone that it’s your iPad Office.
What are the Best iPad Office Apps?
There are many apps available in the Apple App store for editing documents, but we cannot call every one of them Office suites. However, there are few powerful apps available which can rival desktop editing suites.
Apple’s iWork App
This is probably the only App which provides total control over your viewing and editing of documents. iWork has three sub apps – you can edit documents with Pages, work out your accounts with Numbers, and create presentations with Keynote.
With the built-in Apple cloud sync function, the documents are synced with every apple device you have logged into. If you own a Mac computer, and have used iWork, then you must feel home right away. The app is updated to support the new iPad 3, which has a high resolution retina display.
The iWork Office App for your iPad cannot replace Microsoft Office App on your desktop, but is good enough for editing and creating documents on the go.
Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite
This app is not as polished as iWork, but provides many features which are not available in that. You can view and edit all kinds of documents, but what makes this iPad Office app special is its support for online storage services such as Box.net, Dropbox and Google Docs.
DataViz Documents to Go Premium
This premium Office suite for your iPad works similar to Quickoffice, but has few more options some of you might find interesting and helpful. Dataviz app allows you to sort and store your documents by name, size, last opened and type. If you have limited space in your iPad, you should go for this app, because the total size is just 11 MB, whereas other Office suites for iPad such as iWork could go up to 150 MB.
Note: some of the above apps are also compatible with iPhone and iPod.
All the above iPad Office Apps are available for download from the Apple App store. Most of them come for less than $10, so you can definitely give them a try.
